AFC Bournemouth will be the envy of their Championship rivals as they prepare to jet off to warmer climes later this month.
The Cherries, who earlier this week appointed Scott Parker as their new manager, will head out to the Marbella Football Centre from July 11-20.
That is despite Spain being on the UK Government's amber travel list. People travelling from countries on this particular list have to quarantine for 10 days, upon their return. They also have to provide two negative Covid tests.
Were similar rules to apply to footballers it would have made friendly matches impossible.
However, the Government has made an exemption which allows foreign sides to travel to the UK - and it would seem a similar loophole will now be used by the Cherries once they return back to these shores.
The Mail recently reported that legislation has been passed which will open the door for overseas teams to head to these shores without the requirement for 10-day self-isolation.
The rule permits incoming international elite sportspeople to travel directly to the fixture upon arrival in England and to fulfil the fixture without having to self-isolate.
Bournemouth will head out to play Spanish top flight side Granada in a friendly on Monday, July 19. Their preparations for the new season are in stark contrast to many of their Championship rivals.
Most are staying within the UK, with training camps being run across England, Scotland and Wales.
Peterborough, promoted from League One last season, had planned a pre-season trip to Portugal but the country's addition to the amber list meant they made a late switch and will instead be based in Wales.
Posh say Covid restrictions and quarantine time upon their return home have disrupted those plans.
