Bournemouth seal £1.5m signing of Jamal Lowe as Swansea City's own striker hunt to go down to the wire amid interest in Southampton star

Bournemouth have signed Jamal Lowe on a permanent deal from Swansea City.

The Cherries had a bid worth £1.5m - which could rise to £2m - accepted by the Swans.

Lowe successfully underwent a medical on the south coast of England and has signed a three-year deal with Scott Parker's side.

It has intensified Swansea's search for a number nine, with Southampton's Michael Obafemi being targeted.

Obafemi was close to securing a loan switch to south Wales in January until an injury brought an end to a potential deal.

Kyle Joseph could yet leave the club on loan - with Cheltenham Town being firm admirers of the frontman.

Lowe joined the Swans from Wigan Athletic for a fee worth in the region of £800,000 during the 2020 summer transfer window.

He scored 14 goals in his 58 appearances for the club.
