Bournemouth's physio insists he's not going to Celtic despite Twitter farewell

Bournemouth physiotherapist Jonny King has insisted he's not on the brink of joining Eddie Howe at Celtic, despite appearing to say goodbye to the Cherries on social media.

Howe is thought to have been locked in talks with the Hoops hierarchy for several weeks, with his former club Bournemouth's participation in the English Championship playoffs thought to be a stumbling block.

Howe is rumoured to be keen on bringing several staff members from the Vitality Stadium with him to Glasgow, so you can probably understand the reaction from Celtic supporters when King posted a farewell message on Twitter earlier this week:

However, King has set the record straight, and it seems he definitely won't be heading to the Scottish Premiership, at least with Celtic, any time soon.

A fan shared a direct message where King commented his phone was blowing up with Parkhead supporters contacting him.

He said : "I can assure you I'm not going to Celtic, so you can ask all your friends to stop messaging me," and that was coupled with a laughing emoji.

As we've told you previously, first-team coaches Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone are thought to be wanted by Howe, as well as ex-Scotland international Richard Hughes as a technical director/chief scout.

With the future of stars such as Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie all far from clear, as well as others, the Parkhead club really can't appoint Neil Lennon's successor soon enough.
