Bournemouth place whopping £35m asking price on midfielder amid Premier League interest

Bournemouth's Arnaut Danjuma could be priced out of a switch to a Premier League club.

The Cherries winger put in some impressive displays in the Championship last season as the South Coast side finished in the play-offs.

They were beaten by eventual winners Brentford in the semi-finals and that has prompted plenty of top flight clubs to look at the possibility of acquiring their star assets.

Dutchman Danjuma is certainly in that bracket after scoring 15 goals in the second tier last term.

Leicester City are known admirers and are after reinforcements out wide with only Harvey Barnes and Marc Albrighton on the books as recognised wingers.

But a report in the Sun claims that City have baulked at Bournemouth's asking price.

Scott Parker's side reportedly want £35million for Danjuma.

The 24-year-old is also attracting admiring glances from other top tier clubs such as West Ham and Leeds. But they too would be reticent to pay such a hefty transfer fee.

The Bournemouth winger won his club's Player of the Year award last season with an impressive 40 per cent of the supporters' vote.

He has previously represented Dutch side NEC and Belgian outfit Club Brugge, from whom Bournemouth signed him in 2019.

The Nigeria-born Dutchman also has two caps for the Netherlands.
