Bournemouth eye up Fulham boss Scott Parker as next manager as Cherries eye changes

Bournemouth are planning an audacious swoop for Fulham boss Scott Parker.

Cherries manager Jonathan Woodgate led the team into the Championship play-offs last season.

But they fell short, losing to Brentford in the semi-finals. Woodgate was named as replacement for Jason Tindall, but his contract only ran until the end of the campaign.

The Sun now claims that Bournemouth are again looking at Parker - someone they tracked last summer following Eddie Howe's exit.

The Cottagers were relegated from the Premier League last season but Parker has won plenty of plaudits for his work in getting them promoted in the 2019-20 campaign.

He has recently been linked with the vacant Tottenham job and was cryptic with his comments regarding his personal future.

Following their final match of the season, a home defeat to Newcastle, Parker admitted: "It's a big summer.

"There are big decisions to be made and we need to make sure we make the right ones."

As for Bournemouth, Woodgate summed up the emotions after losing that pulsating two-legged affair with Brentford.

He said: "In the changing room just now, I've told the players to bottle that feeling.

"It's the worst feeling in the world, but you have to try and channel it and the emotions and use them as positives in the future."

The two clubs will meet as equals in the Championship next season, with the fixtures being released on June 24.
