Bournemouth boss Scott Parker makes 'very difficult' Man City admission

Bournemouth boss Scott Parker has admitted that his newly promoted side are set for a 'very difficult' afternoon when they travel to champions Manchester City on Saturday.

City started their Premier League title defence as they mean to go on last weekend with a 2-0 victory over West Ham United. New signing Erling Haaland scored twice on his league debut as the Blues strolled to a comfortable win.

Parker's men meanwhile enjoyed a positive return to the top flight with their own 2-0 success over Aston Villa. Jefferson Lerma and Kieffer Moore were amongst the goals as they enjoyed the best possible start.

However, Parker admitted that the test against City will be a whole different challenge for his players. He said: "It's difficult. It's very difficult. They're an unbelievable positional team. They change their positions slightly in every moment. However you set up against them, they quickly change their structure and the way they play. There's a challenge there, of course there is.

"There's no denying that for us to go and get anything out of this game, we're going to need to be 11 players that are eight, nine out of ten. We'll need to ride our luck in certain moments, and we're going to have to give over probably one of the biggest, hardest performances we've ever given.

"I speak for myself and every other manager not in the top four or five, they probably know exactly the same thing. It's going to be no different for us. That's the plan, really."
