Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall's admission as he responds to Newcastle bid for Callum Wilson

Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall says he can't begrudge Callum Wilson the opportunity to play in the Premier League after Newcastle tabled a £20million offer for the striker.

United are locked in a bidding war with Aston Villa, who have proposed a package that would be worth £21million. But Newcastle are offering to pay up front.

The Cherries are yet to respond to either bid but Tindall offered the clearest indication that his club, who are looking to bounce straight back after being relegated in July, will sell the striker.

"I think, and I’ve said this before, in all my time at the football club, there has always been speculation, there’s always been people wanting our best players," he told the Daily Echo.

"Callum falls into that category and that bracket. I can’t begrudge anyone that wants to play at the highest level.

"But in terms of what happens from here, that’s for the club to decide.

"Whatever happens – if he stays I will be absolutely delighted as a manager.

"Or if he gets an opportunity to go and play at the highest level, he certainly deserves it for the hard work that he’s put in throughout the years."

Newcastle could announce Ryan Fraser as early as tomorrow while the club are confident that they will be able to broker a deal for Norwich's Northern Ireland international Jamal Lewis.

The left-back is on international duty but Newcastle will be able to agree terms if - as expected - Norwich agree to the £13.5million deal.

Canaries Sporting Director Stuart Webber is in charge of transfers at Carrow Road and Head Coach Daniel Farke said he was not aware of any progress on the deal.

"Not my topic at the moment. I told everyone for the past 24 hours I just wanted to concentrate on this game, Nothing else.

"But I have spoken a lot about this situation and nothing has changed. If there is something in the background that is up to Stuart Webber, our sporting director, to make any decisions. From the sporting point of view we need our best players and I wouldn’t sell any of our best players.

"But I am not naive. Decisions have to be made in the interests of the club, not just the head coach.

"If the board and our sporting director has a situation where they have to make a decision in the best interests of the club they are better placed than me.

"I trust the key people to make the best decisions. But I don’t know if there is any news."
