Bournemouth beat Liverpool, Arsenal and Southampton to sign Bristol City star Lloyd Kelly

Bournemouth have stolen a march on their Premier League rivals to sign Lloyd Kelly.

The Cherries reportedly agreed a £13m fee for the highly-rated Bristol City defender, although Bristol Live understands this could be higher, and have now confirmed the signing this afternoon.

There has been plenty of buzz about Kelly in recent days, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Southampton having all been linked with the 20-year-old.

Yet the Cherries moved quickly to secure his signature.

Speaking about the move, Cherries boss Eddie Howe said Kelly's potential excited him.

He said to the club website: “Lloyd is an exciting talent and a player of real potential, while at the same time already possessing good experience for someone so young.

“He is athletic, versatile, physically excellent and has a very bright future ahead of him.

“I’m delighted that we have been able to strike so early in the summer and look forward to working with Lloyd during the coming seasons.”
