Boulevard Newcastle back in adult panto action with Dick Whittington and his Pussy

While the Theatre Royal's is still going strong, most of Newcastle's family pantos have uttered their final 'it's behind yous' and packed up for another year.

But in the past years, pantomimes haven't just been for families in the city - far from it in fact - and city centre cabaret club Boulevard has been spearheading an adult panto risque revolution.

Following in the footsteps of Sinderella, A-lad-in and last year's Jack Off The Beanstalk comes another raunchy, suggestive and downright vulgar production, but all in the best possible taste of course!

And as you'd probably guess from the titles of its predecessors, it has an equally filthy name too. On Friday, January 17, the curtain will go up on Big Dick Whittington and his Pussy at Boulevard, which will see Miss Rory return to home turf after a successful stint in Cinderella at the Sunderland Empire , alongside Scarlett Moffatt.

Miss Rory will be joined by another performer who's been busy putting the hours in in pantoland over the festive period - Dame Patsy, who earned rave reviews for her star turn in Jack & the Beanstalk at Playhouse Whitley Bay.

Other cast members you may recognise from around the region include Boulevard adult panto regular Stephen Sullivan and Hazel Pude, who starred alongside Miss Rory in Sleeping Beauty at Northern Stage last summer.

Audiences have been told to expect "all the usual naughtiness, with added production, dance numbers and songs to ensure that the January blues stay far away!"

There will be performances of Dick Whittington and his Pussy at Boulevard on January 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26.

Tickets are on sale now from the box office on 0191 250 7068 and online from the Boulevard website - oh yes they are!
