North Lanarkshire Council have lifted the road closure into the main entrance at Strathclyde Park.
The stretch leading into the park from Hamilton Road had been closed off to traffic since the lockdown was put in place.
However, motorists could still access the park from the Raith Interchange but were not allowed to travel right through.
The new opening will also still have a restriction in place as you will not be able to travel right through the park again from the main entrance.
Signage has also been placed around the park reminding users of the 2m distance rule and also warns motorists that if a car park is full to “find a safe alternative”.
Playgrounds and outdoor sports pitches opened up around Scotland from yesterday (Monday, June 29). This mean Strathclyde Park users will now be able to access the large outdoor play park near the main entrance.
The local authority have asked that users continue “to maintain physical distancing when using these facilities and follow good hand hygiene measures when you get home”.
