A glass of fizz makes traditional afternoon tea extra special. But why restrict yourself to one glass when you can have free-flowing bubbles accompanying the quintessential British celebration.
A hidden Nottingham bar - famed for its quirky cocktails such as one with a Twister lolly - has just launched a new bottomless afternoon tea every Saturday - making a trip there twice the fun.
Describing the menu as "sumptuous" The Hockley Arts Club bar serves tea-goers a range of savoury and sweet treats.
Crustless sandwiches and cocktail rolls comes with fillings such as smoked salmon, prawn mayo, egg and cress, and BLT plus homemade sausage rolls and creamy mushroom puffs.
Moving onto the sweet stuff, there's an array of homemade mini cakes such as lemon drizzle and coffee and walnut, freshly baked scones with strawberry jam and whipped cream, mini milkshakes, cookies and macarons.
You won't go thirsty. As well as lashings of tea and coffee, plus the bar's signature peach iced tea cocktail, there's a whole 90 minutes of bottomless prosecco to see you down to the very last crumb.
The cost of this extravaganza is £34.95 per person. Two other versions are available, minus the bottomless fizz. With one glass the price is £24.95 and a non-alchoholic 'virgin' afternoon tea is £19.95.
Tables are available every Saturday from midday to 6pm but must be pre-booked at info@thehockleyartsclub.com. Then all that remains is finding the obscure entrance in Carlton Street.
