Deputy Prime Minister Suphajee Suthumpun has ordered urgent action to ease bottlenecks facing arriving passengers at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, targeting delays at immigration, baggage collection and on public transport.
The measures will also strengthen security and use real-time flight data to deploy staff and manage passenger areas more efficiently.
Ms Suphajee led a senior government team to the airport on Tuesday.
The visit focused on hearing problems directly and agreeing short-term measures.
Urgent measures include improving automated immigration gates, adjusting staffing according to flight schedules and peak hours, reorganising passenger areas and integrating real-time passenger and flight data so agencies can prepare staff and space before aircraft land.
Tourist police will strengthen security, while CCTV and a smart command centre will be used to monitor suspicious individuals and assess situations.
"The goal is to make Suvarnabhumi a national gateway that leaves travellers with a positive impression and strengthens Thailand's tourism competitiveness," Ms Suphajee said.
