'Bottled it'- Arsenal fans all say the same thing after what Gabriel did against Man City

Arsenal fans have been left in disbelief at what has unfolded in the second half against Man City which eventually culminated in Gabriel receiving a petulant red card.

The Gunners were on course to create a major shock which would have shaken up things in the Premier League title race and the top four battle but events in the second half put a spanner in the works.

First off, Pep Guardiola's side were awarded a controversial penalty when Bernardo Silva went down in a theatrical fashion after a challenge from Granit Xhaka.

That decision in itself turned up the heat dial another notch as Riyad Mahrez converted to make it 1-1.

Moments later in the 58th minute, a moment of confusion at the back from Ruben Diaz and Ederson caused Nathan Ake to produce a sublime goal line clearance before Gabriel Martinelli missed the rebound which looked easier to score than miss.

Mikel Arteta's misery was then rounded off when Gabriel received his marching orders for a clumsy challenge on Gabriel Jesus which prevented a quick counter attack.

It was unbelievable how things unfolded so quickly and that reflected in how supporters reacted to the red card incident- many understandably shell shocked.

@RMoraal tweeted: 'NEVER A RED!!'

@nazbelly_gh blamed one player in particular for what happened in those crazy few minutes: 'Xhaka caused all this ffs.'

@schneidermike rued: 'Oh of course. Arsenal tax out in full. We can’t have nice things..'

@messilizer7 was angry at the referee: 'This is the worst refereeing performance, I've ever seen..'

@BrutallyGunner simply put: 'We've imploded.'

Rival fan @CFC_Andy_ who needed the Gunners to do a job for them in this one put: 'Nice, you've bottled it.'

Rodri scored the winner to make it a nightmare scenario for Arsenal fans coupled with supporters of Chelsea and Liverpool.
