A Bothwell man caught on CCTV hacking at his ex-girlfriend with a machete has been jailed for nine months.
Lloyd Singleton could be seen making repeated attempts to strike Amy Lang, but fortunately he didn’t make contact.
The footage showed a number of individuals involved in a melee in Wellbank Place, Uddingston.
Sheriff Ray Small called it “the most unusual domestic I’ve seen for a while”.
He added: “It’s more like a gang fight.”
Singleton, 21, of Baillie Drive, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted possessing a bladed item and assaulting Ms Lang on July 10.
Jennifer Cunningham, prosecuting, said the couple had been in an on-off relationship for three years and have a child.
Police were alerted when residents reported a disturbance and CCTV showed Singleton armed with a machete.
