Both Cook and Hunter receives votes for NFL awards

No Viking won a major award this season in the NFL, but two players received votes.

Running back Dalvin Cook received one vote for Comeback Player of the Year, while defensive end Danielle Hunter received one vote for Defensive Player of the Year.

Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill and Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore won those two awards, respectively.

After missing 17 games in his first two seasons, Cook played 14 games in 2019 and had 1,654 yards from scrimmage to go with 13 touchdowns. He made his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Hunter, on the other hand, became the youngest player in NFL history to hit the 50 sack mark. Hunter made his second Pro Bowl appearance and had 14.5 sacks for the second-straight year. Those 14.5 sacks tied for fourth in the NFL.

Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph was the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year, but Calais Campbell instead won the award. Rudolph was certainly deserving.
