Botanic Gardens fire: emergency services rush to west end as smoke is seen over Byres Road

Fire crews are in attendance at the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow's west end after smoke was seen over Byres Road.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue service confirmed they are trying to trace the source of the smoke which is understood to be coming from the old railway tunnel within the gardens.

An SFRS spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "The fire service are there at the moment. Operations are still ongoing.

"We're trying to trace the source of smoke within the old railway tunnel there. It may be rubbish on fire so we're just trying to establish that."

Meanwhile, it was also confirmed firefighters are at Kelvinbridge in relation to the same incident.
