A shop in Botanic was robbed by a man wearing a motorcycle helmet and armed with a claw hammer on Monday night.
The man entered the store between 7pm and 7.30pm before demanding money from a member of staff.
He ran off with cash where he met an accomplice on a moped in College Gardens.

A PSNI spokesman said: “The suspect was described as being aged in his 20s and approximately 5’8” tall. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet and grey coloured track top and grey coloured track bottoms.”
SDLP rep Gary McKeown described the incident as ‘appalling’.
He said: “This incident, involving a dangerous weapon, is absolutely appalling and no doubt caused serious distress for the staff members present during the ordeal.

“This robbery is not only an attack on the shop and its staff, but on the whole community which the shop services.
“I would appeal to anyone with information to contact the PSNI on 101 to ensure we don’t see another repeat of this incident in our community.”
