Boston’s Marcus Smart is Dunc’d On’s Nate Duncan No. 1 flopper in NBA

There’s no denying Boston Celtics veteran guard Marcus Smart has grown his game tremendously on both ends of the court in recent years.

But, unfairly or not, his reputation as one of the NBA’s most egregious floppers persists up to the present, with Dunc’d On podcast host Nate Duncan going as far as to say the Oklahoma State product is his No. 1 flopper in the entire league.

To be clear, Duncan is not casting aspersions upon the defensive specialist, instead lauding his skills at bending a faulted system towards winning. However you personally feel about flopping, the popular NBA analyst makes a solid case for respecting the tactics which fall under such an umbrella even if the incentive shouldn’t be rewarded in theory.

The reason Smart ranks so highly according to Duncan?

“He’s really the only person who gets the crazy separation on his flops … He is just launching himself away, doesn’t care about his own body. He’ll slam his head into the metal seats next to the court, he’ll fall on his tailbone — whatever it takes to try and sell a call. He is just launching himself away from the scene of the crime ike he was just shot out of a cannon.”

“It’s just incredible,” he added.

To hear the rest of the discussion on the Flower Mound native’s alleged on-court theatrical endeavors, pick up listening at roughly the 30-minute mark.

Better yet, give the whole pod a listen to hear where the admittedly cagy veteran falls amidst his peers.
