The first round of returns for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game voting has come back, and the Boston Celtics have a player near the top of the returns in one of the two categories with a conspicuous absence in the other. Voting is again split between back and frontcourt players, and All-Star forward Jayson Tatum finds himself coming in fourth overall in the frontcourt returns.
Listed behind Kevin Durant (2,360,435 votes), Giannis Antetokounmpo (2,145, 835), and Joel Embiid (1,236,060) with 643,970 votes and is just ahead of Jimmy Butler (522,513), the Duke product is probably out of range of a starting slot, but at least technically could still make up the ground.
At present there is a conspicuous absence for the Celtics in the backcourt voting, however, with All-Star forward Jaylen Brown not even registering in the first round of returns despite arguably being the better player in recent games for Boston.

There’s still plenty of time for fans to get the Georgia native on the board with the 10th-place spot currently held down by Fred VanVleet of the Toronto Raptors with 108,529 votes.
The next round of NBA All-Star fan voting returns will be revealed on Thursday, Jan. 13.
