Boston’s away game at Bulls on Monday, Jan. 25 to start hour later

The Boston Celtics shared word of a change in the scheduling of their looming road game against the Chicago Bulls Monday, Jan. 25 — and it isn’t postponed, thankfully.

You would be excused if you thought that the case given the NBA’s problems with COVID-19 and related contact tracing forcing players out of action and into the league’s health and safety protocols so far this season, but in this case, it’s a much less worrisome situation. The team announced via Twitter Friday afternoon that the game would be pushed back an hour from 8 p.m. eastern time to 9 p.m., with no further information regarding the cause of the delay.

Initially announced by the league the night before, it seems the tilt is one of many pushed back an hour in the next several days, including Chicago’s Saturday game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Compared to having to punt on the game entirely until a future date, this is easily a preferable outcome and what ended up becoming of the last game scheduled between these two clubs.

Even if we’ll be sleepier at work the next day for it.
