Boston Marathon decided by 1 second in thrilling sprint to the finish line

If you didn’t catch the end of the Boston Marathon, you missed out on one heck of a finish at Boylston Street.

Lawrence Cherono and Lelisa Desisa were side by side as the headed toward the finish line of the 26.2-mile race, with Desisa trying to put on the gas for a last-second victory. But the Kenyan making his Boston Marathon debut was just slightly faster, beating Desisa — the Ethiopian who had won the 2015 event in Beantown — by all of one second.

Luckily, there’s video of the incredible sequence at the end of the men’s race, which was unbelievably close.
