Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown could be free from any minutes restriction now that he has returned from an injured hamstring, according to head coach Ime Udoka at his press conference Thursday. Udoka said they wanted to keep Brown at or under 30 minutes in his first game back, but anticipates that Brown will either be without restriction or will have an increasing restriction over the next few games.
“Yeah, we haven’t even discussed minutes, other than the first game. Keeping him around 30, three days of no game, of rest. Obviously getting back to where he was,” Udoka said. “You would anticipate that continues to go up, and even if need be, the other night we wanted to keep around 30, but if needed, we could have went over that, so you would anticipate he’s off restriction.”
Big man Al Horford said the Celtics are a “totally different team” with Brown on the court because of the attention he gets and his shot-making abilities.
Romeo Langford and Jabari Parker did not practice Thursday because they “did not feel well,” according to Udoka.
