The Boston Celtics can’t catch a break when it comes to superlative hardware, it seems.
The NBA announced their awards for the best players of the Disney restart in the so-called ‘bubble’ taking place at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
And no Celtics were listed.
The awards, created to honor the exceptional play of those participating in the (we hope) once-in-a-lifetime single-site season ending and postseason hosted by Disney, went to players on other teams, Boston getting the short shrift for the second time in as many weeks after media voters also passed over the Celtics for the regular end-of-season awards as well.

The winners for the All-Seeding Games First Team included Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers) — who also won Kia NBA Player of the Seeding Games honors — Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Luka Dončić (Dallas Mavericks), James Harden (Houston Rockets) and T.J. Warren (Indiana Pacers).
The All-Seeding Games Second Team is comprised of Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Kawhi Leonard (Los Angeles Clippers), Caris LeVert (Brooklyn Nets), Michael Porter Jr. (Denver Nuggets) and Kristaps Porzingis (also of the Mavs).
The Suns’ head coach Monty Williams got Coach of the Seeding Games honors.
If Boston gets to take home the Larry O’Brien Trophy, we can call it even.
