Boston Celtics short-timer Vander Blue signs with Mexico’s Libertadores de Querétaro

Former Boston Celtics short-timer Vander Blue has signed a deal with Mexican club Libertadores de Querétaro of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, Mexico’s top-level basketball league, according to recent reporting from HoopsHype’s Alberto De Roa.

Blue, a graduate of Marquette University who went undrafted in 2013, was picked up on a 10-day deal in 2014 by the Celtics after stints with the Israeli Premier League’s Maccabi Rishon LeZion and the Philadelphia 76ers’ Delaware 87ers (now, Bluecoats) at the G League level the season prior. The Milwaukee native appeared in just 3 games for Boston while spending time with the Maine Red Claws (now, Maine Celtics) as well.

Blue averaged 1.7 points and a rebound per game over 5 minutes played per contest while with the Celtics and later play a handful of games at the NBA level with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2014-15 and 2017-18.
