Boston Celtics move to East’s first-place spot with win over Timberwolves

In one of the most improbable in-season turnarounds in any sport in modern history, the Boston Celtics have seized first place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference standings after having fallen as far down in the standings as the 11th-place slot earlier in the 2021-22 season.

The Celtics accomplished it with another commanding win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, beating the franchise that traded them Kevin Garnett in 2007 at TD Garden Sunday night 134 – 112 with twin 30-point plus performances from their star wings Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, with help from Robert Williams III and Derrick White.

The hosts of the NBC Sports Boston “Post Game Live” show Amina Smith and Chris Mannix shared their thoughts on Boston ascending to the mountaintop, and what it could mean for the postseason aspirations.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear their perspective on what the win means for the Celtics.
