Bosses of Seven Lucky Gods restaurant 'gutted' to close after employee tests positive for Covid-19

A popular restaurant in Wapping Wharf has been forced to close after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

Bosses of Seven Lucky Gods said they were 'gutted' to announce the news only seven days after fully reopening last weekend (July 4).

During a post on social media, a spokesperson said the employee hadn't been into the Japanese bar since Tuesday.

Tests are now being organised for all staff and the venue will be closed until 'further notice'.

The Facebook post reads: "We’re gutted to be saying this, but in the interest of total transparency we wanted to let you know that one of our team at 7LG has tested positive for COVID-19.

"Whilst he hasn’t been in the venue since Tuesday and wasn’t in contact with any of our customers, we’ve immediately arranged tests for all of our other staff and will be closing the restaurant today until further notice."

A deep clean is being carried out and temperatures checks have already been conducted on the whole team.

"Whilst nobody is showing a fever they’ll all be self-isolating until their test results come back," a spokesperson confirmed.

"We know this will be worrying and disappointing for anyone who was planning on visiting us this weekend and who has visited in the past week, but we want to make sure we’re doing everything we can to keep everyone safe, and would much rather be overcautious.

"We’re sending loads of love to our team member who’s currently unwell and will keep you posted on our plans as and when we begin to reopen."

Bristol Live contacted the bosses of Seen Lucky Gods for more information, but they have not yet responded.

Earlier this week a pub, takeaway and vape bar, in Burham on Sea, all closed their doors after a customer tested positive for Covid-19.

The drinker had been with a delivery driver for a nearby Indian takeaway and both later tested positive for the new coronavirus.

The Lighthouse Inn in Burnham-on-Sea, voluntarily closed and warned all its customers that the man had been in the pub.
