Bosses at Queen's Scots estate blast campers for dumping tents in third lockdown litter disgrace

Bosses at the Queen's Scottish estate have again blasted campers for leaving behind equipment- after tents and rucksacks were abandoned at a scenic loch.

Three tents were left behind at Loch Muick yesterday.

But a kind-hearted traveller was praised for tidying them up.

During the coronavirus crisis, workers at the sprawling royal estate have found litter numerous times- including human waste.

Balmoral Castle posted the pictures on Twitter.

They then tweeted: "Three abandoned tents at Loch Muick today! Thanks very much to George from Edinburgh, who was camping responsibly nearby, for helping to tidy up the mess"

Angry locals have hit out at the latest incident and praised the man for his help.

One tweeted: "Well done for tidying it up but I really cannot understand what goes through them minds of people who camp in such a wonderful location and then ruin it by leaving a mess."

Another added: "That is absolutely disgusting. I was there yesterday walking with my family and looking at the equipment I think I meet these people about to set up for the night. Make me feel sick."

A third wrote: "There are so many pictures like this which I can’t fathom! Aside from being horribly irresponsible.... why do people just abandon this sort of gear which must be quite expensive. just abandoning all your camping gear? It’s not only horrible but also quite weird.

Another added: "I don't understand, they came for the beauty of the place !! How can we do that? What do they have in their heads?"

In June, bosses warned they were seeing 'increasing quantities' of human waste around the site- and wipes left in bushes.

The lockdown forced the closure of public toilets with beauty spots across the country reportedly seeing an increase in all types of waste.

Balmoral issued advice on what to do if you are caught short- including burying faeces.

And in July an entire campsite was left abandoned.

Camping chairs, a trolley, a campfire, rucksacks as well as five tents were apparently abandoned on the Balmoral estate.
