Boss Danny Lennon insists Clyde will improve as they slip closer to relegation spots

Clyde boss Danny Lennon admits the players and fans will be hurting after defeat to Dumbarton.

Morgyn Neil’s second half strike for the Sons was enough to earn a narrow win over the Bully Wee.

The Broadwood outfit now have a dismal record of seven league games without a win with Forfar just a point behind in the relegation play-off spot.

With title-challenging Falkirk arriving in Cumbernauld this weekend, gaffer Lennon insists the results will come for the League One strugglers.

He said: “At times like this when you are on a poor run of defeats like that sometimes the wee break doesn’t go for you in both boxes.

“As much as I felt we were in control of the game today we have got to make that final part count and we didn’t in the final decisions.

“To lose the goal from a set-play is disappointing; from the first phase to just not getting tight enough.

“I know the character of the boys in that dressing room, I know they are hurting, and the fans and staff are hurting.

“We’ve got to work extremely hard and Saturday at home presents another opportunity for that.

“We’ve turned the corner before, and as long as those players keep working hard for one another it will turn again. It will turn; there is no doubt about that.”
