A January move is a possibility for Nottingham Forest target Kamil Grosicki, according to his national team manager.
The Reds had hoped to sign the West Bromwich Albion winger during the summer transfer window, with terms agreed on domestic deadline day last month.
However, there was a dispute about whether paperwork was submitted in time, as the switch fell through.
The English Football League argued the club had missed the cut-off point, and an arbitration hearing went on to rule against Forest in their bid to challenge that decision.
Grosicki remains out of favour at The Hawthorns, though, and Poland boss Jerzy Brzeczek says the 32-year-old - along with Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik, who has been linked with Everton - could be headed elsewhere.
“Arek Milik and Kamil Grosicki are very important players of this team, with an incredible quality,” Brzeczek told Il Mattino.
“Personally, I count a lot on them.
“They are not having an easy time today, but I think they can change teams as early as January.”
Poland international Grosicki has featured just once for West Brom this season, when he played the first 55 minutes of a Carabao Cup victory over Harrogate Town.
Forest boss Chris Hughton has been coy about whether he would try again to sign the player when the January window opens.
He previously told NottinghamshireLive: “In every window, every manager and every team will look at the options they’ve got - players you can bring in and players who haven’t played so much.
“That’s the opportunity for every club.”
