Borussia Dortmund won't stand in Jadon Sancho's way if winger seeks transfer this summer

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke says the club will discuss selling Chelsea and Manchester United target Jadon Sancho - if he asks to leave.

The 19-year-old has impressed once again in the Bundesliga this season and he has already weighed in with 14 goals and 15 assists.

Sancho’s form has led to Watzke hailing him as arguably the best young player in Europe and it has sparked interest from several clubs.

Chelsea and United are particularly keen on the England international ahead of the summer transfer window, but he has also caught the eye of Liverpool and Spanish giants Barcelona.

Dortmund naturally want to keep hold of Sancho for as long as possible, but Watzke has confessed that stance could change if the teenager asks to leave.

“Jadon is a very, very great talent, perhaps the greatest currently in Europe among players under the age of 21,” Watzke told RMC Sport.

“In my opinion, he has the potential to become one of the top two or three players in the world in the years to come.

“We will do our best to keep him as long as possible. We have a very good relationship with him.

“But if one day, he comes to see us and tells us that he wants to leave the club, then we will discuss it.

“But this is not our first option. The first option is to keep it as long as possible.”
