Borussia Dortmund willing to sell Jadon Sancho to Manchester United 'for right price'

Borussia Dortmund are willing to let Jadon Sancho go to Manchester United “for the right price”, although feel Sunday’s final day could be crucial to the much-expected transfer.

While all sides are confident a deal can be done for the England star this summer, Champions League qualification remains the grand caveat and could still impact it greatly.

Sancho’s camp have been insistent that participation in Europe’s premier competition is close to a deal-breaker, which is one reason the deal hasn’t been done yet.

While United would be hopeful they could still get the player even in the event they finish fifth or fail to win the Europa League, it would still complicate negotiations.

For one, the English club’s spending power would be affected, and it may change the nature of the deal. Sources in Germany say Dortmund are reserved about the situation, especially since the hierarchy have come to the conclusion that this summer could be the optimum time to sell Sancho for the highest price. There is a belief that the market could soon be deflated, bringing down fees, so keeping him could be a risk in that regard.

Dortmund have already started working on a deal for Werder Bremen’s Milot Rashica, who would allow Jude Bellingham’s steps into the team to be staggered. Both would replace Sancho.

An actual price still has to be agreed, with United expected to enter negotiations at a basic fee of £55m, although with a series of clauses and conditionals that would eventually take it up to over £80m.
