Dortmund come into the fixture on the back of a chastening 4-2 defeat against rivals Bayern Munich last weekend, and will have to do without Jadon Sancho, who was been ruled out for several weeks with injury. Languishing sixth in the table, the club are facing the very real prospect of missing out on a Champions League spot next season, which threatens an exodus of some of their brightest prospects in the summer. Sevilla, though, are hardly in higher spirits. The club recently suffered back-to-back defeats against Barcelona, the second being the most dramatic of last-gasp comebacks in the Copa del Rey, before falling to another loss at relegation-threatened Elche in La Liga on Saturday.
