Borussia Dortmund use Liverpool to send trolling message to Barcelona after Champions League draw

Borussia Dortmund's official Twitter account took a cheeky swipe at La Liga giants Barcelona following the Champions League group stage draw which took place in Monaco on Thursday night.

The 2018/19 winners Liverpool, who drew Napoli, Red Bull Salzburg and KRC Genk, were referenced by the Bundesliga outfit after they were drawn to face the La Liga champions in Group F.

former side, who will also take on Inter Milan and Slavia Prague, took to social media to react to the prospect of facing the Catalan club.

In a post to Twitter they comically quipped: "Time to practice our corners".

The tweet refers to Trent Alexander-Arnold's quickly taken set-piece which caught Ernesto Valverde's side napping as Divock Origi tapped home to complete Liverpool's historic semi-final comeback at Anfield last May.

Dortmund are renowned for their witty presence on social media and this particular message has been a huge hit with fans having already racked up 79,000 retweets as well as over 260,000 likes.

Five-time winners Barcelona will be looking for a revenge of sorts as they visit the Signal Iduna Park on September 17 for the first matchday of the 2019/20 campaign.
