Borussia Dortmund troll Manchester United fan over Jadon Sancho on Twitter

Borussia Dortmund pulled no punches on Twitter when responding to a Manchester United fan who was eager to see their club secure the services of winger Jadon Sancho.

Sancho, who left Manchester City for Dortmund in 2017, has emerged as one of the world's brightest talents after some impressive performances in the Bundesliga last year.

As a result, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was interested in bringing the England international to Old Trafford to bolster their options in the final third.

Dortmund had no intention of allowing their prized asset to depart and the 19-year-old has remained at the club.

Nevertheless, speculation persists that a move back to Manchester may be a possibility in the future with United fans desperate to see the forward make the switch.

One fan took to Twitter to make his feelings known, replying to Dortmund's post which asked fans to pick their favourite shirt name and number.

He jokingly posted: "Sancho to Man Utd. 7."

The Bundesliga side were quick to create a shirt design for him, although his special request wasn't granted.

Instead, they used the No.6 with the shirt name 'Europa League' in reference to United's poor performance in the Premier League last year - which saw them miss out on Champions League qualification after finishing sixth.

Dortmund finishing second in the Bundesliga last year, narrowly missing out on the title to Bayern Munich, meaning they will be playing Champions League football during the new season.

After the reply, other fans told the United supporter to "deactivate his account" and claimed the Dortmund admin had "ended his career".

On the other hand, some United fans still had hope that the deal would be completed eventually, telling Dortmund to "come back to this Tweet next summer."
