Jadon Sancho to Manchester United: Borussia Dortmund 'totally relaxed' amid transfer links

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc says he is “completely relaxed” over the future of Manchester United target Jadon Sancho.

United are considered favourites to land the England youngster when the transfer window eventually opens this summer, but vice-chairman Ed Woodward said last week that the coronavirus shutdown would likely limit the club’s activity.

That would suggest that the chances of United smashing the British transfer record to meet Dortmund’s asking price of £120million are slim.

But any hopes that Woodward’s comments might encourage the German side to soften their stance appear to have been dashed.

Sancho still has two years left to run on his Dortmund contract and as such the Bundesliga club are under no pressure to sell this summer, despite the general expectation being that the 20-year-old will move on.

“There is no new status,” Zorc told Sport1. “At the moment, all clubs are running on sight – even in England! I can’t and don’t want to go too far out of the window with forecasts because the situation is changing daily.

“We will see what happens. We have a long-term contract with Jadon Sancho. This will not change now. We are totally relaxed about it.”

“The most important issues that are currently occupying us are rather: What is the way forward? When do we play again? It would be of paramount importance for all of us to be able to finish the season.”
