Borussia Dortmund send brilliant message to Arsenal after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang goal

Borussia Dortmund may be sitting pretty at the top of the Bundesliga table heading into the New Year, but BVB have not forgotten players who have come and gone.

The path from Dortmund to north London is a well-worn one in recent years, with former BVB scout Sven Mislintat heading to Arsenal to become the Gunners' new head of recruitment in November 2017.

Dortmund's star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang became Arsenal's club-record transfer the following January, while defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos made the same move last summer.

The former Dortmund pair combined during Arsenal's 4-1 Premier League win over Fulham on New Year's Day, with Sokratis assisting Aubameyang to score the fourth goal of the game and wrap up three points for Unai Emery's men.

Sokratis teed up Aubameyang with a pass from outside the area, and the Gabon striker's deflected effort looped into the net for his 14th League goal of the campaign.

Dortmund - well known for their social media antics - responded to the Fantasy Premier League Twitter account's announcement of Arsenal's fourth goal in the style of an FPL goal update, replying: "Thanks - DORTMUND".

Another win for the BVB social media team...
