Borussia Dortmund reaffirm transfer stance on Manchester United target Jadon Sancho

Borussia Dortmund have reaffirmed that Jadon Sancho will not leave the club to join Manchester United this summer.

MEN Sport understand s that the Englishman remains United's first-choice transfer target but negotiations have stalled with the club unwilling to meet Dortmund's £108million valuation.

Ed Woodward has come under criticism from United supporters for the club's perceived lack of work in the transfer market, with Chelsea and Liverpool both spending big to strengthen their squads.

United's only transfer dealing remains Donny van de Beek, whilst all of their top-six rivals have brought in at least two additions.

Liverpool's aggressive transfer approach saw Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota arrive at the end of last week and their movements in the window will have only further added to United fans' frustrations.

Gareth Bale has also joined Tottenham Hotspur in an expensive loan deal.

Sancho registered 17 goals and as many assists last term and was quickly made United's top target for this window but Dortmund have grown stronger in their stance.

The Bundesliga outfit now appeared to have all-but ended United's hopes of landing Sancho by reiterating their stance that he'll not leave this summer.

Dortmund sports director Sebastian Kehl said on Monday night: “He is our player - and he will stay.

"It was an important statement from the club because we have a certain responsibility."
