Borussia Dortmund are reportedly willing to allow Julian Brandt to leave on loan this month.
BILD are reporting that Dortmund will give the green light to let the midfielder leave on loan should a lucrative loan offer arrive for the 24-year-old.
However, the report also states that the Bundesliga club do not want to sell Brandt permanently and that he still has a long-term future at the club.
Arsenal are among the clubs who have been linked with Brandt, who has scored just once in 22 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.
After a successful 2019/20 campaign with Dortmund, Brandt has struggled to re-discover his best form this term having scored seven times in all competitions and provided 10 assists across the Bundesliga and Champions League during his debut season in Dortmund.
Should Arsenal pursue a move for the creative midfielder, Brandt would be the second signing that the Gunners have made and it would be a second from Germany’s top-flight.
At the age of 24, Brandt has played over 200 games in the Bundesliga, scoring 36 goals.
If Brandt arrives, he could become the Gunners' second signing of the window.
Although it has not been officially announced yet, Arsenal have signed Omar Rekik from Hertha Berlin.
The centre-back has been pictured training with the Gunners and the deal could officially announced any day now.
Rekik, a right sided centre back who has been playing on the left and in defensive midfield, received offers from clubs across Europe, with his brother Karim - who plays in the same position - leaving Hertha to join Spanish giants Sevilla on a five-year contract last month.
Netherlands-born Rekik, a senior Tunisian international who has previously played at youth level for the likes of Feyenoord, Manchester City, PSV and Marseille, has been assured by Arsenal academy manager Per Mertesacker that he will get to train regularly with the first team.
The signing follows a long list of players Arsenal have added to their U23s set-up over the past few months.
An aggressive recruitment approach spearheaded by Mertesacker has seen no fewer than six new additions to the set up.
Among the names to arrive are Nikolaj Moller (Malmo), Jonathan Dinzeyi (Tottenham), Tim Akinola (Huddersfield), George Lewis (Fram Larvik), Joel Ideho (Ajax U18) and Catalin Cirjan who have all been signed by Mertesacker over the past year in a bid to bolster a depleted squad.
