Borussia Dortmund have issued a statement after Jadon Sancho was spotted in the UK amid his ongoing transfer saga.
The England international is attracting plenty of interest this summer, with Manchester United leading the way in the chase for his signature, while Chelsea have also been linked.
With reports suggesting Sancho is moving ever closer to a move away from the Bundesliga, Dortmund imposed a deadline of August 10 for a move to be completed.
With that date approaching, nothing has yet been agreed, with reports suggesting United could be prepared to walk away from a possible deal due to Sancho’s price tag.
That could open the door for Chelsea to make a move, although it has been suggested that United’s pursuit will go on beyond the August 10 deadline.
But Sancho may well be closer to a move than first suspected, having been spotted back in the UK on Saturday.
The 20-year-old attended a house party with rappers Krept and Konan, both of whom happen to be United supporters.
Dortmund director of media and communication Sascha Fligge has insisted there is no problem with Sancho flying back to the UK though, and is expecting him to report back for training on Monday as usual.
"It's common and fine for players to go home before a training camp if they're not risky," Fligge said.
"The same goes for Jadon [Sancho].
"From our point of view, the pictures that have been shown to us so far do not violate."
All eyes will be on whether Sancho does arrive back in Dortmund on time on this occasion – the forward was fined €100,000 for arriving back in training late after being on international duty back in October 2019, and was omitted from the squad to face Borussia Monchengladbach.
