Borussia Dortmund give Manchester United fresh Jadon Sancho transfer update

Borussia Dortmund are adamant that Manchester United target Jadon Sancho will not be allowed to leave the club this summer.

United are interested in a move for the former Man City winger as they look to overhaul their squad at the end of the season and back new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with the funds to mount a genuine Premier League title bid.

Sancho is one such player who fulfills their desired criteria of top-quality homegrown talent, but Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke is certain the youngster won't be allowed to leave this year.

"We will not sell him, that is fact," Watzke told Eurosport Germany.

" It is clearly discussed with every person who is involved that Jadon plays in the next season for BVB."

Despite only becoming a regular in the Dortmund first-team from October of last year, the youngster is already being tipped for huge things in the game.

And although Dortmund are delighted with the progress he has made, they do not want Sancho to become distracted by all of the transfer speculation surrounding him.

Waztke added: "His progress is brilliant. For his age he plays extremely remarkable because he does things you cannot plan like this. But we have to be careful that we do not trigger the hype. This boy just turned 19 years old.

"He is not allowed to lose a millimetre of focus because for the top players every thousandth counts.

"Cristiano Ronaldo has not been at the top of the world for many years because of his talent, but because of his focus no one else has.

"If Jadon proves that in the next few years, we can talk about a world career as well. At this time, we can only speak about his huge potential."
