Willian issues transfer statement

Willian has confirmed in an open letter on social media that he is leaving Chelsea.

The Brazilian is out of contract at Stamford Bridge later this month, with Arsenal thought to be in pole position after making an offer of a three-year deal.

The 32-year-old was reportedly offered a new deal by Chelsea, but football.london understands the length of contract on the table from Arsenal is set to persuade the winger to move across London, with the Gunners increasingly optimistic of securing his signature.

Defeat at Bayern shows Lampard must shift transfer focus

Chelsea brought the curtain down on their 2019/20 campaign with a disappointing defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Coming into the game with a 3-0 lead from the first-leg, Bayern quickly made it 5-0 on aggregate when Lewandowski and Ivan Perisic scored inside 25 minutes.

Tammy Abraham pulled one back before Corentin Tolisso and another effort from Lewandowski completed the rout.

Dortmund issue Sancho statement

Borussia Dortmund have issued a statement after Jadon Sancho was spotted in the UK amid his ongoing transfer saga.

The England international is attracting plenty of interest this summer, with Manchester United leading the way in the chase for his signature, while Chelsea have also been linked.

With reports suggesting Sancho is moving ever closer to a move away from the Bundesliga, Dortmund imposed a deadline of August 10 for a move to be completed.

With that date approaching, nothing has yet been agreed, with reports suggesting United could be prepared to walk away from a possible deal due to Sancho’s price tag. Read the full story here.
