Borussia Dortmund chief reveals how close Jadon Sancho came to Man Utd transfer

Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has opened up on Manchester United's pursuit of Jadon Sancho.

United remain admirers of England international Sancho, who continues to catch the eye in Germany.

Zorc revealed this month that United did make an approach to sign Sancho earlier this year.

A meeting did take place with United but Dortmund were not interested in any deal 'no matter how much money' was on offer.

Sancho was also said to be keen to stay with the Bundesliga side during the transfer window.

Ahead of his side's clash with Barcelona in the Champions League, Zorc was again asked about Sancho's future.

Asked how close he was to making the move to Old Trafford, the Dortmund chief told Viasport: "Not close at all.

"We didn't talk to them. They were asking us for a meeting"

"Sancho is not for sale."

Sancho started for Dortmund against Barcelona amid fresh speculation over his future.

ESPN reported United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is targeting four English players to continue his Old Trafford revamp.

Sancho and Leicester's James Maddison have emerged as his primary targets for next summer

They report that Newcastle's Sean Longstaff also remains on Solskjaer's wish-list, along with Bournemouth's Callum Wilson.
