Dortmund make transfer decision that could impact Haaland to Chelsea and Sancho to Man Utd

The January transfer window is behind us and focus returns to action on the pitch, rather than behind the scenes.

But it will not be long before we're back in transfer mode and there are already plenty of rumours doing the rounds ahead of the summer window.

With Chelsea inactive in terms of incoming players last month, maainly due to the £200million plus they spent in the summer, the Blues, under new manager Thomas Tuchel, are likely to be busy in the summer.

The board will want to back the new man and give him the squad he needs to succeed.

Billy Gilmour staying at Chelsea is the right move

Given his links to Germany, Tuchel has been tipped to raid the Bundesliga when the transfer window reopens in the summer, with the likes of Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho, Dayot Upamecano and Achraf Hakimi all linked.

Haaland is understood to be Tuchel and Chelsea 's number one priority in the summer window and it's easy to see why.

The Norwegian frontman has 38 goals in 39 appearances for Borussia Dortmund since signing for the in January 2020. He is a goal machine and there is plenty of interest in him already, with a £68million release clause due to come into effect in 2022.

Dortmund may well look to cash in on him this summer, with more than £100million mooted before that clause comes into effect.

And the German side are already making plans for life without their big hitman it seems.

The Bundesliga giants have confirmed the signing of teen wonderkid Julian Rijkhoff from Ajax. Rijkhoff is very highly regarded and there were a number of clubs from Europe's big five leagues sniffing around him.

However, he has joined Dortmund, and could be Haaland 's replacement in time, given his impressive pedigree.

He was considered to be one of the best young talents in the famed Ajax academy, and has been tipped for a very bright future. He scored nine goals in just four appearances in the Dutch U17s Youth League and has also been capped by the Netherlands at U15s level.

He has also been known to come in off the left, which could be of interest to Manchester United, who are keen on wide player Jadon Sancho, also linked with Chelsea before they signed Kai Havertz.
