Borna Barisic set for Euros bow as Rangers star named in Croatia squad to take on Scotland at Hampden

Rangers full-back Borna Barisic has been confirmed as part of Croatia's Euro 2020 squad this summer.

The Ibrox star is set to take on Scotland at this summer's championships at Hampden.

Barisic has been nursing injury issues over the last few weeks, with Joe Aribo taking his place in the starting line-up at left-back.

That should allow the defender to make a full recovery and line up for the Vatreni as they take on Steve Clarke's side, plus England and the Czech Republic in Group D.

Barisic was not involved with the team that made it all the way to the World Cup Final three years ago.

But he's a regular starter now after flourishing at the Scottish Premiership champions and will likely line up in Glasgow's southside on the final matchday of the group stage on June 22.

Croatia will feel confident of matching their best ever run in the Euros three years on from their fairytale in Russia, which ended with a heartbreaking 4-1 defeat to France.

They have made the quarter-finals twice in 1996 and 2008 but that was when the tournament did not feature a last 16 round.
