Borna Barisic Rangers transfer admission as Barry Ferguson offers Ibrox 'farewell' insight

Barry Ferguson reckons Borna Barisic could have played his last game for Rangers ahead of a deadline day exit.

The Croatia star swung in the delivery which produced Filip Helander 's derby winner but was teary at the full-time whistle as he touched the Ibrox turf.

The emotional images sparked fears that he could be about to leave the club with transfer speculation over his future swirling.

With Tuesday's transfer deadline looming, former Ibrox skipper Ferguson admitted the win over Celtic could be a swansong for the 28-year-old.

When asked if it was farewell, Ferguson told the Go Radio Football Show : “You could say that, given what happened after the game. It may be possible.

“I can see why clubs would be looking at him. Over the piece, he has been an excellent Rangers player.

“Going forward he has been excellent, with his delivery.

"I thought his delivery was off yesterday, but he showed that bit of quality he showed with his delivery for Helander from the corner kick.

“But look, good players when they perform week in week out are going to get noticed. “

Assistant boss Gary McAllister admitted after the game a deal could be imminent.

When asked if Barisic could leave the club before the end of the window, he said: "You never know."
