Borna Barisic pinpoints Rangers area to improve as Ibrox star urges caution in title battle

It's been an excellent month for Rangers, but things can get even better for the Ibrox club.

That's the message from left-back Borna Barisic, who believes there's still room for improvement.

Barisic went off injured in the Europa League win against Standard Liege, and was replaced by Calvin Bassey.

The former Leicester academy player started in the victory against Livingston on Sunday, but Barisic is expected to return to Steven Gerrard's side soon.

Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “I’m happy and everyone is happy.

“Right now we are in a very good position but we need to keep going and work hard to keep playing well. But right now we are in very good shape.

“I’m delighted, especially because I am part of the defensive line, but I think even in this situation we can improve. We have conceded three goals and we have analysed them so we know how we conceded them.

“So yes, I think we can improve in this area and in football it’s always about improving something.

"But from my perspective we have played very well defensively and I am happy because we broke some records.

“It’s a nice feeling. It’s not only about the back four and goalkeeper, it’s about the whole team and the whole team works to defend.

"When the team plays well it’s easier for you to play well. I can say I enjoy it and you can see that on the pitch.

“It’s very nice now to be part of the Rangers team but I need to mention again that it is just the start of the season. The season is long and we have a lot of things to do.

"But we are now in our third year in a row together and we know each other better. It’s much easier now to play.”
