Borna Barisic to Leeds rumour addressed as Rangers star remains committed to Ibrox project

Rangers have received no bids for Borna Barisic this summer - despite reports Leeds had an offer rejected.

The Croatian left back has started the season in fine form and is a vital part of Steven Gerrard's squad with his attacking ability, grabbing three assists and a goal in six games.

He's also been key to the clean sheet record set by Rangers during the early stages of the new campaign and Gerrard isn't willing to let him leave at present.

But like every other player in Scottish football, he has a price that Rangers would be unable to turn down.

Reports in Croatia suggested he was the subject of an £8m bid from newly-promoted Leeds as they look to strengthen ahead of their return to the top flight.

But Record Sport Online understands there's been no offers made to Rangers for Barisic and he remains committed to the cause at Ibrox.

A source has confirmed there's been no bid from the English outfit ahead of the new Premier League season.

The 27-year-old is currently on international duty with Croatia and is his country's starting left-back ahead of next summer's European Championships.

With his form and importance to Rangers, it's unlikely that the Ibrox side would let him leave for anything less than double the £8m Leeds were reported to have bid.

But Gerrard and Ross Wilson haven't needed to bat away any offers, although there is plenty of interest in Barisic.

Leeds did make a bid for Ryan Kent last month which Rangers rejected immediately and they could go back in for the winger.
