Borna Barisic injury update as Rangers key man facing Braga fitness sweat

Steven Gerrard concedes Borna Barisic has a 50-50 chance of playing for Rangers ahead of their crucial Europa League clash against Braga on Wednesday.

Barisic was forced to come during Thursday's dramatic 3-2 win over the Portuguese side after taking a blow on his kidney.

The left-back didn't travel with the squad up to Perth today when Steven Gerrard's side were held to a 2-2 draw by St Johnstone.

And while the Ibrox boss was glad the Croat's injury was not serious, he has rated the former Osjjek player as a doubt for their big European tie.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for Rangers this season, featuring 39 times for the Ibrox outfit and scoring on two occassions.

He said: "He is a doubt right now, but I am hopeful. The injury is not long-term. We hope he will have an outside chance for Wednesday.

“I have got some thinking to do and I have to get the decision right because the team have given me something to think about now.

“We should be talking about a real positive win against St Johnstone on the back of a tough European night but unfortunately I will go away frustrated because of the goals we conceded.”
