Borna Barisic in 'only Rangers for me' pledge as he sends clear transfer message

Borna Barisic has pledged himself to Rangers amid yet more Serie A transfer speculation.

The left-back was again watched by Roma and AC Milan during Wednesday's Europa League last 32 win over Braga.

There could be yet more eyes on the Croatian as Rangers prepare for face Bayer Leverkusen in the next round.

But Barisic remains unfazed as he admitted he's thrilled by the prospect of a showdown with the Bundesliga side.

"It’s easy to ignore the speculation. It’s only Rangers for me right now," the 27-year-old said.

"Leverkusen will be a good challenge. We’ll analyse them and we’ll know much more about them when it comes. I’m very excited.

"We showed on Wednesday we are a very good team. It’s maybe disappeared slightly in 2020 but we are 100 per cent focused."

Steven Gerrard 's team face a tough test overcoming the German side, who sit just six points adrift of Bayern Munich at the league summit.

But, ahead of Saturday's Scottish Cup quarter-final against Hearts, the manager's focus remains firmly on Tynecastle.

The Ibrox side have suffered on Gorgie this term and Gerrard has urged "the real Rangers" to turn up

He said: "We are determined to get to the semi-final, it is an important competition and we have always shown respect by playing our strongest team.

"The only thing we have to prove at Hearts is that the real Rangers are there for the challenge.

" Hearts have beat us once and we respect them but hopefully, the real Rangers turn up tomorrow."
