Borna Barisic 'happy' at Rangers despite Roma and AC Milan interest

Rangers star Borna Barisic is happy to stay at Ibrox despite being wanted by Serie A giants Roma and AC Milan.

Barisic has turned his Rangers career around and was man of the match as his side beat Celtic 2-1 at Parkhead on Sunday.

It's a far cry from last season when he was often third choice behind right back Jon Flanagan and midfielder Andy Halliday for the starting left back spot.

But his development has caught the eye of Italian pair Roma and AC Milan and there has now been confirmation of the capital club's interest.

Record Sport Online understands the interest is real from both - with various other clubs also taking a look at the 27-year-old although Barisic isn't set for an immediate move.

A source close to the player said: "There is interest from many clubs but he is happy at Rangers."

Roma and AC Milan are both on the lookout for new left backs with Aleksandar Kolarov out of contract at the Stadio Olimpico in the summer, while Ricardo Rodriguez has been linked with big money moves away from the San Siro.

Steven Gerrard won't want to lose Barisic, who has developed into one of his most important players over the last six months.

He grabbed two assists in Rangers' first victory over Celtic at Parkhead in nine years, setting up goals for Ryan Kent and Croatian compatriot Nikola Katic.
